Ahead of the stair-case, the gate of “A galaxy of calligraphic works” leads to the courtyard, meeting neatly 30 seated calligraphic tablets inscribed with calligraphic works of famous Chinese and foreign calligraphers. At the end of the path stands a bust of Yan Zhenqing in Chinese marble. |

| Plum-Blossom Hill |

As one of the four resorts for enjoying plum blossoms in China, Plum-Blossom Hill in Nanjing covers a planting area of 72309 square meters. There are over 15000 plum-blossom trees in nearly 300 varieties, forming a sea of plum blossoms. In each early spring, Plum-Blossom Hill witnesses gorgeous and lightly aromatic plum blossoms as well as lots of tourists. Starting from 1996, “Nanjing International Plum-Blossom Festival of China” is held in February or March every year, making it famous at home and abroad.

| Uprightness Pavilion |

Designed by Yang Tinbao, it was built in 1947 with donations from overseas Chinese in USA. Chiang Kai-Sheik personally inscribed it as “Uprightness Pavilion”, a place that he chose for his future tomb.

| The Tomb of Sun Quan |
 |
Sun Quan, emperor of the State Wu during the Three-Kingdom Period, was buried in Plum-Blossom Hill after death, hence resulting in the name Sunlinggang and also Wuwangfeng (the tomb for the emperor of State Wu). Now, his tomb is in non-existence. In order to memorize this historic site, Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum Administration built a garden of stories on Sun Quan in 1993 at the eastern foot of Plum-Blossom Hill.

| The Combined Tomb of Liao Zhongkai and He Xiangning |

As an outstanding revolutionary of China, Liao Zhongkai was assassinated by reactionaries in 1925, with his remains moved to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum for burial in 1935. As his wife, He Xiangning once worked as vice chairman of National Political Consultative Conference and vice head of National People’s Congress of China. After passing away in 1972, she was buried together with his husband here according to her last wish, i.e. “Be in the same bed during lifetime and be in the same tomb after death.”

| Sun Yat-sen’s Botanical Garden |

Originally named “Botanical garden in memory of the premier”, Zhongshan Botanical Garden was built in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Thanks to development of dozens of years, it is now featured by green vegetation, gorgeous flowers and charming forests, becoming the biggest botanical garden for the popularization of science in eastern China.
