“Little Angels of Plum Blossom" paintings collected on a magnificent scene

Jointly sponsored by the People's Government of Nanjing, Nanjing Tourist Bureau and the Administration of Dr Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum", 13th International Plum Blossom Festival of Nanjing ,China " will be held on February 22, 2008. To enable children to enjoy a happy and meaningful winter vacation, temper their courage, reinforce their confidence and promote their happy life for comprehensive development, together with the activities of the Jiangsu provincial government, Jiangsu Children's TV Channel and the Administration of Dr Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum have jointly hosted the first "Little Angels of Plum Blossom" selection activities. Children's Painting and Calligraphy will be collected in Nanjing, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Yancheng and Suqian at the same time. Outstanding works will be exhibited on Plum Blossom Hill.

With energetic promotion of Jiangsu Provincial Work Committee for Children, Jiangsu Children's TV Channel and the Administration of Dr Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum, many children of Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Suzhou and Yangzhou have offered their works, including calligraphy, Chinese painting, cartoon drawings, clip art, etc. These contributors give full play to their imagination, applying their wisdom and talents to create outstanding works. Most of these children's works have highlighted the themes of 2008 International Plum Blossom Festival of Nanjing China and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, revealing their sentiments for the success of 2008 Olympic Games and 2008 International Plum Blossom Festival of Nanjing, China. Trough meticulous selection by relevant staff, among more than 500 works from four cities, some 330 were selected earlier as exhibits for this children's painting exhibition. Of these calligraphy and painting works by children, many are so beautiful, making it difficult for the staff to finalize the selection. Based on the principle of choosing the best from among nice ones, they have decided on the works finally chosen as exhibits.

Collected calligraphy and paintings of "Little Angels of Plum Blossom"are parts of 2008 International Plum Blossom Festival Of Nanjing, China. At present, children's works are still being collected from Nanjing, Nantong, Yancheng and Suqian, in order to make Plum Blossom Festival more beautiful. We hope the children in these cities can actively participate in the collection of calligraphy and paintings for " Little Angels of Plum Blossom" , to display their talents and create their best works!
