[Transmitted from Modern Express] “Paintings of famous cities-2008 Sino-Russian oil-painters’ sketching activities" conducted under the auspices of Modern Express has been concluded satisfactorily. Yesterday afternoon, “Nanjing Exhibition of Sino-Russia Oil-painters’ Creative Oil Painting Works" was held at Nanjing Quartet Contemporary Art Gallery. A dozen of Sino-Russian oil-painting artists vividly demonstrated Nanjing’s charming scenery and the culture of Nanjing as an ancient capital. Among the paintings there was one huge sketch of Dr.Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum landscape completed by all painters, which became the focus of the exhibition.
The curator of Nanjing Quartet Contemporary Art Gallery Li Xiaoshan said with emotion, "It can be a major blessing to Nanjing to have so many Sino-Russian oil painting artists depicting Jinling so beautifully; Able to enjoy such excellent works is a great pleasure for citizens in Nanjing.”
