Celebration of The 1st Annual Mid-Autumn Heritage Festival Jiangsu China & International Osmanthus Festival Nanjing 2008

On September 13, the 1st Annual Jiangsu Mid-Autumn Heritage Festival & Nanjing International Osmanthus Festival 2008 shall be celebrated in Nanjing Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum for 23 days.
During the festival, programmes are too many for the eyes to take in. On the opening ceremony, some folk unique skills will be gradually shown on the expansive lawn of Linggu Temple, such as spitting fire from the mouth, playing wind instruments, ventriloquy, jugglery, changing faces in Sichuan Opera, and wrestling, etc.
On Saturdays and Sundays during the festival, vivid programs and activities will be performed on the expansive lawn. On September 13 and 14,can be watched folk handicraft performance of Jiangsu characteristics and other regional characteristics of China, including embroidery, carving,papercutting, bamboo-weaving, sculpture, molding clay figurines and painting, etc. Meanwhile, other entertainments about folk songs, dances, or instruments will also come forth, for example, puppets show Zhongkui’s Playing with Bats, and instrument playing Celebrating Harvest Year. Music Stage will witness A Symphonic Poem Concert on September 20/21 and September 29 to October 5 when stilt-walking of Haicheng, Liaoning is staged on the expansive lawn.
A collection of Nanjing folk arts will be performed firstly on the expansive lawn of Linggu Temple on September 20/21, next in Xiaoling Tomb of the Ming Dynasty-World Cultural Heritage on October 1 to 4.
Besides, throughout the festival, tourists can taste delicious snacks including delicately-made Nanjing local snacks everyday in Linggu Temple.
