Yuhua Pebble Exhibition entitled “The Charm of Pebbles of Plum Blossoms” caused a sensation during this Festival of Plum Blossoms

On February 23, the opening ceremony of Yuhua Pebble Exhibition entitled “The Charm of Pebbles of Plum Blossoms” (one of the important cultural activities of the 15th International Festival of Plum Blossoms of Nanjing, China) was held in front of the Museum of the Ming Tomb in the Scenic Area of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum. More than 100 lovers of Yuhua pebbles attended this ceremony from such places as Beijing, Anhui and Nanjing. Chen Gang (vice-mayor of Nanjing) and numerous personages in the cultural circle attended this ceremony and cut ribbons for it. All the Yuhua pebbles exhibited came from the collection of “Lovers of Yuhua pebbles in Nanjing”, as well as complied with the theme of this Festival of Plum Blossoms. There were more than 30 natural Yuhua pebbles with “plum” as their theme, including “Plum and Snow Vying with Each Other in Spring” (Reputed as “The number one plum pebble in Nanjing”, it had been broadcast twice in News Broadcast of CCTV in 1997 and 2007 respectively), and “Double Limpidness and Ink Charm”. In addition, there were series of “Eight scenic spots of Nanjing” and “Twelve beautiful ladies in Nanjing”, strongly featured by the regional culture of Nanjing. The latest techniques of demonstrating contemporary Yuhua pebbles were applied: One was the combination of traditional culture and modern culture, and the other was the appreciation of pebbles through water and the exhibition of elegant offerings. In addition, Zheng Zheng harmoniously collocated old jade, ancient disc, rosewood frame and Nanjing Brocade he had been collecting in the past years with rare pebbles, thus enabling these exhibits to emit their charm, and enchanting visitors so much.
This exhibition will last until March 9. During this period of half a month, visitors can come to the Museum of the Ming Tomb after having appreciated plum blossoms on Plum Blossom Hill, so as to experience the unique beauty of the nature from Yuhua pebbles assuming various poses.
