“Hot-blooded Deng Yanda” the Movie-Shooting Started in Deng Yanda Martyr Cemetery Garden

In memory of the 100th Anniversary of 1911 Revolution and the 80th Anniversary of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party, the feature film named Hot-blooded Deng Yanda started its shooting ceremony in Deng Yanda Martyr Cemetery located in the scenic area of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum on the morning of May 8th, 2010. The film is co-produced by the Publicity Department of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party, its Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee as well as Nanjing Guangxi Movie and Television Company. Shi Shuguang, minister of the Publicity Department of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party hosted the shooting ceremony. Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party, Zhou Jianmin, chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party and vice-chairman of Political Consultative Conference of Jiangsu Province, as well as Shan Hanzheng, secretary of the Party Committee of the Administration of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum, attended the ceremony.

Mr. Deng Yanda was one of the most outstanding leaders of the left wing of the Kuomintang of China and one of the founders of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party. The film is intended to reveal Mr. Deng Yanda’s impressive life through highlighting some brilliant parts of his life. The film was approved by the Great Revolution Subject Leading Group of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as one of 16 important films in memory of the 100th of the 1911 Revolution as well as a big gift for the 80th Anniversary of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party.

It is learned that the film is written by Han Han, a young playwright and other playwrights and directed by He Wenliang, a young director. Deng Yanda is acted by Fan Shanghong, an excellent young actor.

Deng Yanda (1895-1931), alternately named Cecheng and Zhongmi, officially named Zesheng, and assumedly named Shi Shengdeng, was a Hakka born in Huizhou County, Guangdong Province. Deng joined the Chinese Revolutionary League. in his early years. He supported Three Great Policies advocated by Sun Yat-sen and was a famous member of the left wing of the Kuomintang of China during the first round of Kuomintang-Communist co-operation. He was appointed as the dean of studies of Whampoa Military Academy in 1925. He was also elected as a Central Executive Committee member, a Central Political Committee member, a member of the Presidium of Central Military Commission as well as the minister of the Central Peasants’ Ministry at the Third Plenary Session of its Second Central Committee of the Kuomintang of China. Deng vigorously planned military action against Chiang Kai-shek in 1931. He was betrayed by a traitor and arrested on Aug. 17, 1931. He was then executed secretly by Chiang Kai-shek at Shazigang outside Qilin Gate in Nanjing on Nov. 29, 1931. On Dec. 19 of the same year, Soong Ch'ing-ling publicized Soong Ch'ing-ling’s Declaration in Shen Bao to protest the execution of Deng Yanda. Deng was declared a revolutionary martyr after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. His posthumous works included Deng Yanda’s Collected Works and his other works.

After Deng Yanda died a martyr’s death, local people took great risks to bury his body at Xi Village in the east suburbs of Nanjing. In 1957, people’s government moved Deng’s tomb to Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum and built Deng Yanda Martyr Cemetery Garden with special funds allocated by the State Council in memory of his revolutionary contributions. He Xiangning wrote an inscription for his gravestone. In 1981, the government allocated special funds again to repair Deng’s tomb. The Central Committee of Chinese Peasants’ and Worker’ Democratic Party wrote his revolutionary experiences on the back of his gravestone.
On June 25th, 2010, Deng Yanda’s tomb was listed into the fifth batch of cultural relic sites under national protection and came under the management projects of cultural relics of Administration of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum.
